Ideas we are exploring

Alongside the technology we install today, we are working on concepts for the future. We would rather show you honest early thinking than pretend a product exists.

Everything on this page is in development. Specifications, performance, certification, pricing and availability are not confirmed. None of these concepts is currently available to buy, and nothing here should be relied on when planning a project.

Concepts

Integrated outdoor heat-pump & hot-water enclosure

A single, tidy outdoor unit that pairs an air-source heat pump with a weatherproof hot-water and services enclosure — designed to sit cleanly against a British home and be straightforward for an installer to service.

Grenie integrated enclosure

Heat pump exterior & hot-water concept

An exploration of how an outdoor heat pump unit and its associated hot-water and services equipment could be brought together into one considered, weatherproof enclosure. The aim is a unit that is quieter to live beside, tidier against a wall, and easier for an MCS-certified installer to access and maintain.

This is a concept only. It has not been built, tested, certified or proven, and no performance, efficiency or availability claims are made for it. Any future product would be subject to full design, certification and installer approval.

Concepts

Grenie Node

An early idea for a compact AI computing unit at suitable homes or other sites, exploring how on-site solar, battery storage and grid electricity could support flexible computing demand.

Grenie Node

Distributed computing concept

The idea brings a small, ventilated computing unit together with an energy management approach that could adjust its activity as solar generation, stored energy and grid conditions change. A potential location would need appropriate space, electrical capacity, connectivity and a full site assessment.

This is a concept only. Grenie Node has not been built, tested or certified, and there is no confirmed hosting arrangement, income, savings or availability.

For inspiration on how a site-based energy and monitoring node can work, take a look at SolarNode by SolarNetwork (opens in a new tab). Grenie Node is our own separate idea and is not connected with, endorsed by or a product of SolarNetwork.

Concepts

Wall-mounted micro-wind generation

An early idea for capturing air movement across a building façade with a compact, wall-mounted turbine. This is a concept only: it has not been built, tested, certified or proven, and we make no performance or savings claims for it.

Grenie WindWall

Building-integrated wind concept

An early idea for capturing air movement across a building façade using a small, wall-mounted turbine. The concept is intended to be compact and discreet, but any real-world output would depend heavily on the specific site, local wind conditions, planning rules and structural suitability.

This is a concept only. It has not been built, tested, certified or proven. We make no performance, generation or savings claims. Any future development would be subject to site assessment, product validation, certification and installer approval.
